Who we are
Bird Tree Farm is the love child of Zoe and Shmu, birthed from the fertile soils of their journey through life and land. After five vibrant years at Zoe’s parents' property, known as Warinyan Farm—where the duo cultivated their dreams and distilled their essence into their brand “Bottled Culture”—they took a thrilling leap to their very own patch of paradise.
Nestled just down the road, Bird Tree Farm sprawls across 100 odd acres in Central Lansdowne, waiting to burst with the potential that only a couple of devoted dreamers can see. They rolled up their sleeves—and just about everything else—on the old farmhouse, transforming it from a fixer-upper into a cozy sanctuary, all while Zoe was pregnant. A mere month after welcoming their first cherub into the world, the family settled into their newly-renovated but very much unfinished abode.
Fast forward five years—imagine the chaos and joy of a growing family as they managed to juggle two little ones, herd a sizeable cattle mob (growing from 5 to 30), and embark on the rollercoaster ride of more renovations, moving their business and starting a market garden. Nature, however, had other plans with three solid years of rain that delayed building and turned their garden dreams into soggy misadventures. But fear not! They didn’t back down; instead, they dug deeper—improving fences, building infastructure, and planting an experimental backyard syntropic food forest as a test ground for future commercial endevours.
Now that Bottled Culture has settled into its new commercial kitchen and warehouse, the air is thick with possibilities and a hint of fermenting fruit. It’s time to get on with transforming the rest of the farm and growing food for our community!

At the heart of it all, Zoe and Shmu are devoted to regenerative agriculture. With a fervent passion for nutritious local food, syntropic farming, permaculture, holistic management, and biological soil health, they’ve cultivated not just a thriving farm but a vibrant lifestyle brimming with good food and sustainable living.
At Bird Tree Farm, every winding path and rustling leaf tells a story; it’s not just a farm, but a canvas of dreams, where the potential of small regenerative farming and food production is not only possible but profitable, for people and the planet.
